About Our Organization

Joshua's Story

At the tender age of 2, our son, Kasten Joshua Rich (affectionately known as Joshua), was diagnosed with autism Spectrum Disorder. Like many families, we did not know what to expect and the grieving process ensued. For 3 days, my husband and I cried as we tried to process the diagnosis. On that 3rd day, my husband said, “Joshua is a gift, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and go to work for him!” From that moment on, despite our financial limitations, we advocated for Joshua and made sure that he had every resource necessary moving forward.

From speech and occupational therapy to applied behavioral analysis (ABA), the diagnosis took a major toll on our family, both mentally and financially, but love triumphed. When you don’t understand why you can’t hold your child or how they will make friends at school, you learn to look at life through new lenses. For us, that meant seeing hope and opportunity at every corner and doing everything we could to ensure that our son had a fighting chance. We welcomed our baby girl, just a few short years after Joshua’s diagnosis and the two of them have taught my husband and I more about resilience, love and compassion than we could have ever imagined.

As we’ve remained active in the autism community, we recognize the need for families to have increased support and access to activities that are inclusive and engaging. This, coupled with our growing desire to do more, became the inspiration for “Joshua’s Gift”.

    Vision and Values

Children with autism need your valuable care, support, and love to learn the art of living. These children are special and gifted with other traits to excel in one domain of life but lack the social skills to lead a normal and happy life.

At Joshua’s Gift, we use all the necessary tools and techniques to make them self-reliant and more confident individuals. We care for them as a part of our society. We bring change in the lives of children with autism spectrum disorder. We make them feel a part of our families, social groups, and communities.

We bring change in our lives by:

Accept: it is a feeling that may bring a ray of hope to the lives of autistic children. Their confidence and regular improvement seek our special care, patient response, and timely care.

We, at Joshua’s Gift Fremont, strive to make this more humane. We need to comprehend their basic need for inclusion and acceptance. That is how; we can serve the community as a whole. Join us to help the noble cause and support us if you can.

Respect: To feel is humane. This is a basic human need. We all seek respect, even the tiny toddlers as well. Everyone wants to get respect, regard, and proper behavior. In the case of autistic children, this feeling acts as medicine.

Joshua’s Gift Fremont is an attempt to offer what they deserve. Respect them as you respect your normal kid at home. This is our social and moral duty. Please support them because all they need is our love and care – a little extra than usual.

Include: Include them as a part of an inevitable part of our society. We are doing our bit, and you do your by supporting this noble cause. If you feel it right, donate to a cause.
